Getting Started

  1. Select Language

    Use the dropdown menu at the top left of the page to choose your preferred language. English is selected by default. Supported languages include Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

  2. Select Jurisdiction

    Directly below the language dropdown, select a jurisdiction from the dropdown menu. Alternatively, you can type the name of the jurisdiction in the menu bar to quickly find and select your desired jurisdiction. The survey for your chosen jurisdiction will appear in your selected language.

Latest Updates

On the right-hand side of the Compliance Database homepage, you’ll find the Latest Updates tracker. This tracker highlights recent changes to the Compliance Database, including updates driven by new laws, regulatory changes, updated guidance, best practices, and notable enforcement actions.

You can click the jurisidiction name, which appears as the header of each update (displayed in purple), to navigate directly to that jurisdiction's survey page. To view more details about a specific update, click the "...Show More" link to expand the update description.

Glossary

Also on the right-hand side of the Compliance Database hompage, you'll find a Glossary tab. Click this tab to access definitions of key terms used in the Compliance Database, including:

  • Necessity qualifiers:

    • Mandatory Legal Requirement
    • Inferred Legal Requirement
    • Known Enforcement
    • Regulatory-Issued Guidance
    • Best Practice
  • Terms relating to parental consent requirements:

    • Digital Consent Age
    • Minimum Age
    • Default Off If Under
    • Threshold Age
    • NTA
    • NMA
  • Settings

On the right-hand side of the Compliance Database hompage, you'll also find a Feedback tab. Click this tab to submit any feedback you may have.
